The documented style is about the use of ‘modern face’ or: high contrast type faces. In this magazine-style book, Marie-Elsa describes some historical aspects and she gives examples of the use of modern face in today’s magazines and books. She also designed some abstract pages, focussing on the formal qualities of high contrast fonts. This assignment is as much about developing knowledge about type faces as it is about developing a ‘taste’ for type.
